At ACRATS, we pride ourselves on empowering aviation professionals with practical, hands-on knowledge to maintain safety and airworthiness. We recently had the privilege of conducting our comprehensive "Understanding and Interpreting the Structural Repair Manual (SRM), Inspection, Damage Recognition and Assessment" training onsite at Wizzair, one of Europe’s leading low-cost airlines.

A Tailored SRM Training for Real-World Application

The training took place at the client’s location, creating a dynamic learning environment directly connected to Wizzair’s day-to-day operations. The objective was clear: equip engineers and technicians with the ability to read, interpret, and apply the SRM effectively when performing structural inspections and making informed repair decisions.

Through a mix of theoretical knowledge and interactive exercises, participants gained:

  • A deep understanding of the content, logic, and structure of SRMs

  • Skills to identify and assess damage using standard terminology

  • Confidence in determining correct repair limits and choosing applicable repair solutions

  • Hands-on experience with damage assessment cases and practical scenarios

Why SRM Training Matters

The Structural Repair Manual is a critical document provided by aircraft manufacturers. It’s essential for ensuring any damage to the airframe is assessed and repaired in accordance with OEM standards and EASA/FAA regulations.

In our experience, misinterpretation of the SRM can lead to costly delays, improper repairs, or safety risks. That’s why ACRATS developed this training to focus not just on theory but real-life applicability, aligning with the demands of line and base maintenance.

The practical case studies were especially appreciated for reinforcing the correct approach to damage assessment and structural decision-making.

Bringing Expertise to Your Hangar

One of the strengths of ACRATS is our ability to bring our aviation training expertise directly to our clients' facilities. This onsite model ensures:

  • Training is customized to your fleet and environment

  • Teams learn using their own tooling and documentation

  • No travel downtime – maximize learning while minimizing disruption

Whether you operate narrow-body or wide-body aircraft, ACRATS can deliver tailored training for your MRO or airline personnel.
